Welcome CHS Class of ‘66!

Save the Dates! October 7-9, 2016

OK, classmates! Now the story can be told! The details of our 50th Reunion are pretty much set for the weekend of Oct. 7-9, 2016!

You may recall it was originally scheduled to be held at the Radisson in Chelmsford. Suffice it to say the Radisson staff was extremely reluctant to work with the reunion committee on pricing and made us feel most unwelcome, so we decided to take our/your business elsewhere.

The reunion dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro. Cocktail hour will be from 6-7 and the dinner and party from 7-11. A beef and chicken buffet will be served featuring prime rib au jus or pan-seared chicken breast in Meyer lemon & thyme jus, with roasted seasonal vegetables, roasted fingerling potatoes, a garden salad, and apple crisp for dessert. The cost for night's festivities will be $66 per person.

There will be a class meet & greet on Friday night, Oct. 7, at 7pm at the 110 Grill (the site of the former Skip's Restaurant). There is no charge for this affair, but each person is responsible for his or her own food and beverage. Friends from other classes are also invited to attend (along with our spouses and significant others, of course), but we do ask that you RSVP. If we have enough reservations, we will have a private room in which to socialize.

There will be a Sunday brunch at our old stomping grounds, the former Chelmsford High (now the McCarthy Middle School) on North Road from 10-12 on Oct. 9. The brunch will be catered, and there will be a nostalgic tour of the school where we spent four of the best and fun-filled years of our lives. If you wish to attend the brunch, the cost of both the Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch will be $85 per person.

Here are some hints regarding accommodations with approximate prices:

Marriott Courtyard, Lowell: $109

Hampton Inn, Westford, $119

Westford Regency, $125

Radisson, Chelmsford, $145 (2-nite minimum)

The committee is in the process of reserving blocks of rooms at these hotels, and they should be available for booking after Dec. 1. But, of course, you are free to choose your own accommodations.

Classmates should expect to be formally contacted by email or snail mail with all the details and options shortly after the holidays. Checks for $66 or $85 per person, depending upon your choices, and made out to "CHS Class of 1966" should be mailed to our class president, Dennis McHugh, 2 Chelmsford St., Chelmsford, MA, 01824. Or you can pay for your tickets online below at PalPal.

See you all in October!
